Freedom! It's time to head out to the rockin' road to Nashville as Kid Rocks kicks off the Freedom 250 Tour - The Road to Nashville. Proving that he's got the energy, talent, and passion to keep rocking on, the "Rock n Roll Jesus" mastermind is definitely gonna blow your minds as he shares a career-spanning set of all the hits, deep cuts, and a couple of surprises in the mix. While he started off with hip-hop, found success with rap-rock, and moved over to country rock, every single one of his records share unforgettable energies and heart-pounding anthems that go wild in every show.
With a ten-date trek coming up, it's gonna be a huge showcase of his very best. This night at the Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre will see support from Parker McCollum.
It's time to ROCK! Well, no other artist goes as hard as Kid Rock as he unleashes his genre-bending mix of hip-hop, rap rock, and country rock hits. Exploring different sounds in his record, we've seen hium go from his early hip- hop beats, transition to some rap anthems, and later focused on country rock. On his 2022 album "Bad Reputation", he showed signs of returning to rap-rock tunes once again.
In 1999, his track "Cowboy" became a huge success, making him a pioneer in the country rap genre. It all began when he was discovered, at a time when he was a member of a hip-ho group "Beast Crew" in the 80s. Meeting D-Nice and later finding himself working with Mike E. Claerk who was impressed with his energy and own beats, they made demos that led to six major labels wanting to sign the man. He later on signed with Jive Records at 17, and dropped his debut studio LP "Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast" in 1990. Becoming one of the biggest rap stars in Detroit thanks to the release, he embarked on national tours in support of Ice Cube, Yo-Yo, D-Nice, and Too Short.
Later, he launched his own Top Dog label, and released his first mainstream album "Devil Without a Cause" via Atlantic. Certified Diamond by the RIAA and selling over 11 million copies in the U.S., he was surely unstoppable. In that era, he got four major Hot 100 hits, "Bawitdaba", "Cowboy", "Only God Knows Why", and "American Bad Ass".
