Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre
Avenged Sevenfold & Good Charlotte have decided to hit the road together in 2026 and perform all across North America. Thursday, July 30th, it's gonna be Chicago's turn to catch this performance inside the Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre in Tinley Park.
It's shaping up to be an interesting musical mashup! Avenged Sevenfold leans a little bit more into that heavy metal side of rock. Meanwhile, Good Charlotte, even though they've insisted on mostly dressing in black for their entire careers, have a massive pop side. The combination can bring together folks who were in their teens exploring a little bit of their goth side with Good Charlotte, with others who went all in on that lifestyle, listening to Avenged Sevenfold. Both bands have tracks that are going to transport fans back to a time in their lives when all was simpler, and life was oddly good. This is going to be a clash of worlds, even if it doesn't seem like it on paper. As mentioned, both bands could be coming out on stage wearing black, and Joel Madden and the boys could even have painted nails. However, when the music stars play, you're going to realize there's a big difference between "The Anthem" and "Hail to the King." The cool part about all this is that it's not like one side is good and the other bad. Speaking of these two songs in particular, that guitar solo intro in the Avenged Sevenfold song is epic, and getting a chance to hear it live is a must for rock fans. Then, of course, there's a ton of memories that will roar back once Joel Madden says, "Here we go!"
It's going to be really interesting to see how they set this one up. We haven't seen shows from the tour yet, so a lot of what's coming through the vine is just speculation. However, what people in the know believe is gonna happen is that each band will have their extended set to play their top tracks. This is where Nightmare and Afterlife are going to shine on the Avenged Sevenfold side, and Lifestyles and I Just Wanna Live will have fans rocking out with Good Charlotte. Yet, at some point, both bands are going to share the stage, and when that happens, anything goes!
There might not be an official pit area set up for you to rock out and be on your feet for the entire night. If that's not available, then it actually might be a good idea to find a spot further back. You'll have a broader view of the stage with perhaps even a better outlook on all of the different visuals and smoke and mirrors that will likely be a part of the performance.
